PMO Project Manager (Contract)

Location: Salford Country: UK Rate: £24.18 - £28.86 per hour
 

This Project Manager role requires a focused and dedicated individual to oversee technology-related projects within a not for profit organisation. The successful candidate will plan, execute, and monitor projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all defined objectives.

Description

The Programme Management Office (PMO) provides strategic oversight and support to all projects defined as a University Strategic priority, including the campus connectivity plan. It is responsible for establishing consistent practice and standards for project management and business case development, support business areas on project development and delivery, as well as business integration of project deliverables and to create capable project management capacity across the University.

The PMO role at the University is to:

  • Deliver excellence in the performance of Project Management
  • Lead the delivery of staff development in Project Management
  • Support the quality assurance of outputs and support of evaluation of process as part of continual operational improvements
  • Form consistent governance for business case development, project protocols and project prioritisation to support corporate oversight
  • Lead the delivery of the business integration of project outcomes to support benefit realisation
  • Establish culture of good practice for planning, delivery, and evaluation of projects
  • Implement the University's strategic project portfolio

Profile

A successful Project Manager should have:

  • A degree in a related field such as business or technology.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within the not for profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
